Has anyone made their own show jumps?

If so; made out of what, what kind of costs should I be looking at and do you have any photos?

Any info good or bad welcome. Thankies!

Hello.we used to make some jumps using car wheels. If you get car wheels with the rims then get some 4in x 4in peices of timber cut them down to 5ft or what ever height You want the wings to be.Drill holes every two or three inches for the cups then insert the timber into the rims and Hey presto you have some jumps.

OH made some 'mini' BSJA style wings going up to 3ft. and then we just bought polypoles as I'm the one that lifts the things and I can't lift heavy poles. The wings are great and we got the cups from Robinsons - their red "safety cups".

He didn't put as much wood - or as heavy wood - into the wings but they work well.

he's also made some XC jumps out of 'decking' tiles - much safer than using pallets - you can also use logroll onto a backing pole to make WH/XC jumps and fillers.

we made our own water tray using a cut off piece of blue tarpaulin onto a wooden frame with some screws and washers.

i have a great book on building your own showjumps it covers health and safety the tools you will need and what sort of cost are involved and has detailed plans and step by step instructions the book is by Andy Radford and is called 'building showjumps' ISBN 1-86126-792-4
i built two sets of wings and a filler and it cost about fifty pounds including the cups (from robinsons)
