Has anyone else struggled to get equestrian tickets for the 2024 Paris Olympics?

I had my slot this morning and buying was an absolute saga! All equestrian has sold out, except for XC which I had to keep refreshing for, I've had to fill my pack with a sport I'm not bothered about (will hopefully resell on the selling page later). Then the basket wouldn't work on my computer and I had to do it all over again on my phone.

Added to this I will have to do the lottery again to get tickets for the kur and for the last day of eventing!

London 2012 was much easier where you said what sport you wanted and then that was a ballot.

Phew

Did mine yesterday and it was a painful process. I did eventually get 4 tickets for eventing dressage (highest price tickets 😬) and xc so I am pleased, plus it should be very possible to get SJ tickets in the later rounds so hopefully will get the full set. I bought 4 random football tickets as low cost options to complete my pack so I am hoping they will sell on at some point.
My advice to anyone trying is just keep refreshing, logging out and back in again, adding and discarding until what you want comes up. As other people play around with their basket the ticket availability changes really quickly. If you only want 1 or 2 tickets it's easier, 4+ is hard! It took me about an hour of tinkering around to get what I wanted.

I didn't get my e-mail so I am not able to buy yet. There is a ballot to be able to buy.
Hoping I can get something when it's time.

Trying to get tickets today, got 4 for XC day, can't get anything for dressage and show jumping for eventing doesn't even exist! Don't know what else to do.

SJ for eventing won’t be released yet because it’s a medal ceremony. It's not a very logical way to do it butI think it has been done to maximize ticket sales in the less popular sessions

I got straight dressage (day 1 I think) tickets yesterday. It cost me 600EUR for 4 tickets and my husband just said "it's not the one where they all do the same bl00dy thing is it:rolleyes:". Yes, yes it is!! I have spent over a grand getting tickets to 6 events for the 4 of us but I've been waiting to take the children since I was pregnant with them as a Gamesmaker at Greenwich so I was happy to throw my savings at it. I am still hopeful that I might get FSM final tickets but I will wait and see.
Hubby also went in the draw but hasn't been notified yet.
Little point of reference: when your email gives you a time beware that that time is CET so an hour earlier than here. I discovered this by accident yesterday.

5 of us applied separately but none of us has won the ballot. Will now wait and see if we can get x country tickets in the individual ballot, and maybe the 3DE show jumping, but not holding my breath 🙁

OH got her email with a date...

I suspect that on the day she will frustratedly tap away at the icons on her tablet and then watch the website crash just as she gets to the checkout.

I've no idea what tickets she's thinking of buying in her pack.

There’s still plenty of time left in the main ballot, don’t panic yet!

I got mine the other day and what a nightmare!!! I couldn’t buy cross county and normal show jumping tickets in the same ‘pack’, so I ended up making two ‘packs’ one with eventing cross country tickets in plus foot ball and rugby sevens and another pack with team show jumping and tennis & football again. All of that just so I could get cross county and team SJ!! Nightmare!!! I’m hoping ill
Be able to return the football etc tickets at a later date.

There were xc tickets available ten minutes ago for anyone who has a link for today/tomorrow.

I managed to get xc tickets, rowing, and rugby sevens (which I'll re-sell) for under £175. I'll take that given it's an Olympics Games. Am going to keep refreshing just incase eventing dressage comes up.

It's not too bad compared to some other ticket selling processes, and at the end of the day it's a worldwide event that attracts people from all over the world. People will be buying equestrian tickets because of location alone imho, regardless of the sport.

My slot is tomorrow and they emailed today to say some sports are already sold out. I expected that they were talking about the equestrian sports........

I agree- I flew to Hong Kong and Rio without a full set of tickets, and was willing to do the same to Tokyo. Got all the tickets we wanted whilst out there. All 3 of those processes were worse than this one! And London I got 1 ticket to GP dressage, that was it.

I don't think they released all of the equestrian tickets yet. I also had a time slot today and could buy all of the popular events such as gymnastics, swimming, and tennis....but only the cross country phase was available for purchase. I would really like some show jumping tickets, so hopefully they become available.

I hope so but the site does now have a disclaimer saying some sessions are sold out!

I'm hoping to be successful later for the Kür and Eventing SJ in the next round :)

Trying to find out from the website if you can give your tickets to someone else. Thought I might see if friends want to go to other events, I purchase the tickets & they pay me for them, that would make my packs up then.

Sport horse yep I was also a 'survivor' of WEG in Normandy and I would never do another French run big sports event. There was also was it a big rugby or football event that could have caused deaths it was so badly organised.

Good luck to those that are trying for tickets and here is hoping the French have learnt from their mistakes.

As a survivor of the WEG in Normandy I dont think I will bother even trying for Paris Olympics - one shambles in a lifetime is sufficient. I believe the TV rights have all gone to Discovery+ again and they did a super job last time and it was not that expensive. I feel the need for a TV lunch delivered in and friends round!

You cannot compare WEG in Normandy or or dodgy crowd control at the Champions League final to an Olympic Games.

The IOC is an international body that the Paris organisers will be answerable to. Far far too much at stake for it to be badly organised, not least because of the number of visitors involved. Nothing comes close sporting event wise to an Olympic Games in budget, organisation and international status.

Agree the event is totally different but hopefully I will still be fit enough for the next Olympics after Paris. Mind you I do not have much luck with Olympics. I got nothing for when it was here. We had the perfect mix of all the eventing , the kur and a few track events for Japan and covid put paid to that.

I hope people get their tickets and have a wonderful time.
