Hi Everyone
Just wondered if you guys could give me some info, on what you did or how it worked out etc.
My mare had ems lami back in nov 2010. She has been clear back in full work since sept 2011, and out all day since jan 2012 (not moved fields yet so out with the herd) grass is well grazed etc but still some out there for them all to nibble on.
Im worried being the time of year, and different grazing and type of grass she have another attack and another attack would mean probably pts (14.3hh 17 yeard old cob)
her weight is prefect, if anything she is lean lost approx 160 kilos and is in 6 days work with the other day a hour on the walker
I have a grazed down paddock at the new yard for her, which I can even tape of if wanted. I plan to reduce her turn out for the first week to two hours for a few days then onto 4 hours then upto 8.
has anyone moved there lami horse and its been fine, do you think this sounds like a good plan?
Im so frightened I love my girl so much and dont want to do anything to trigger another attack and loose her. But I have to move as where i am no longer provide hay and I wont use haylage (i got a diet that works and dont want to change it) and bedding is straw and I use shavings. So im paying the same as everyone else which include bedding and haylage for just stable and grazing I just cant afford to do that
any help tips, advice, good stories, reassurance would be gratefully recieved, sometimes it feels lonely having a horse with this condition
xx
