Anyone near Patchetts?

I'm thinking of going to the Conrad Schumacher demo at the end of the month.

Its being held mid week, starting at 6.30pm. I'll be travelling from M25/M1. I realise both the motorways are going to be slow from 5pm onwards, but wondered just how grotty the traffic is likely to be from the M1 to Patchetts.

Any local knowledge would be very welcome.

A41 can be grim also, I live at the roundabout off the M25 that joins the A41 (Hempstead Road) and experience that traffic a lot! But would still advise you go up the A41 rather than going through the back roads of Watford as the traffic there is always much worse. You could possibly skip the M25 by staying on the M1 until watford (junction 6 I think) then coming that way (google map it or on the sat nav). The traffic down that road is usually a bit better, I used to go to school on that road off the M1 before coming to University and the traffic was slow but moving well 99% of the time. I live near Patchetts. If you are coming down the M1 towards London it is generally ok but can be heavier coming out of London. You need to go on M1 to Jct 6 and come off for Watford and then take A41 towards London and turn left at 1st roundabout and then 1st right to get to Patchetts.
 
Sorry folks but I live at junction six on M1 thats Bricket Wood, Patchetts is junction five! Take the second exit on the roundabout at J5 on A41, first left, then first right is Hilfield Lane. M1 going south at that time is usually fine, but the M25 is knackered because of road widening!

Might have a rethink on this one.

I have choice of A1 (avoid M25 by A414) or M1. Both have roadworks. Neither poses a great choice in the rush hour. Just a shame the demo hasn't been arranged for a weekend.

Getting the DVD instead is starting to appeal.

If you are coming down the M1 stay on till the Watford Junction for A41 as others have said then its only 5 minutes from there and its not bad traffic wise.
