Anyone not able to ride at the mo?

also preggers, 38 weeks now, havent ridden since 12 weeks as my horse is a bit of a numpty with no self preservation! but cant wait to get back on now, hopefully within a fortnight of giving birth lol! and this time of a trusty cob lol

this time last year i smashed my wrist and was out of action for 12 weeks. I feel your pain, not riding sucks but you're being v sensible xx

Never really worry about riding in the winter. As it usually turns out that when i have the time the weather is foul anyway. So that way i don't get disappointed. I just spend my time looking after them..

that!

plus I've been spending all my time making sure my horse absolutely has some manners! this time last year he had no idea what the word even meant so I'm being super careful that we don't return there! He began to try it on again so I've taken the time to do a lot of groundwork, hoping it'll pay off in a month or two!

Yip me wasn't allowed to ride at the beginning of the year due to health issues, then mare had foal and I lost my old boy due to cancer. Got the all clear from doc and got on 3 times in Oct then weather changed and my girl lost too much weight so saddle doesn't fit anymore so have only rode 3 times this year and doesn't look like I will be able to get on until spring. On the up side I have a much better relationship with her now that we has done heaps of ground work :p

Me. My pony is still lame after falling over and getting a huge hematoma on his shoulder. It's been 6 weeks on now and i've only had him for 7! I've got lots of groundwork to do with him so hopefully he'll get better soon. x

Yes me! Have 4 horses, 2 are retired with spavins & arthritus, 1 is only 4 so having the winter off, & cob has gone lame after hunting on Saturday! (1st time lame in 3 seasons- so can't moan really!)

Me too! And I just bought a brand new pair of Ariat winter riding boots :( (which I'm dying to try out, my very first pair of tall boots :o). My horse has had a cough for about a month now and the vet advised against any riding. It's getting better now, but she still coughs the odd time.

On the weekend I was at the barn complaining and a couple of the girls said that I could go out on one of their horses, which was very nice of them, but I want to ride mine!

Me! Horseless and currently on the waiting list at a riding school (but doesn't look like they will have places any time soon) :( :(
I have some lovely friends who have offered me rides when I go home at Christmas and I'm so grateful for this, it's what's keeping me sane :o
