Plum Park meet.
I was meant to be going with a friend but the man who was going to take her may not be able to due to pig being due to have piglets tomorrow and he wants to be there. I'm hacking up but have never been out with the Farmers Bloodhounds so wont know anyone!
If anyone sees a lonely looking person on small appaloosa pony with white splodge on his back feel free to come say hello!
:)

Good luck! Would love to hear how you find it! I'm going out with them to the Stowe meet on 13th Nov - my first time hunting and am crapping it tbh!

I might pop up to the meet tomorrow on foot just to have a nosey so will look out for you if I do!

Hullabalooh- Matafleur and Me are going!!! Bit scared as we have been on exercise but not out proper. We will be the mini bay racehorse, and the posh bay warmblood at the back looking a bit green!!:D

Oo super! I have done hound exercise once, and "normal" hunting so am hoping it will all be ok! :p I spoke to the secretary on the phone and apparently it wont be as fast as normal due to hard ground so I am pleased my likelihood of surviving is increased :D
I will most definitely look out for you. My friend has a 50/50 chance of coming (depending on whether pig has piglets tonight or waits until tomorrow!).
Anyway, I am on mini hairy beastie, with very odd colouring and a huge head, shouldn't be hard to recognise!
Looking forward to it :D

Glad to know someone else going to the Stowe meet :)

I've not done any hunting of any type before, going with a friend who has, but not for several years - but my Sec D has hunted with previous owner and is apparently good, if a little forward!

Friend spoke to secretary about us going to Stowe (I think they know each other) but she didn't ask what sort of meet it is - so hoping its not one that consists of enormous jumps only as I'm really panicking. I can jump, but not very big!

Really wish we'd gone to hound exercise first but we couldn't, but went XC schooling today to remind pony that we don't just do stressage and endurance!

But I'm hoping I'll love it and won't be the only scared adult on a pony!

May give a false name then if I make complete tit of myself will be able to hide from the shame! :D

The hound exercise I did was at Stowe, and so I am guessing over some of the country that the actual hunt will cover. I jumped everything apart from one fence at the end (as decided pony was a bit tired) and a hedge that most people avoided. And that was my first time jumping out hunting so all was very approachable! It was mostly (in fact I think all apart from the hedge) post and rail type fences on hound exercise around there.

Lol, I too went xc schooling on Wednesday for a confidence top up prior to sunday! :p

:)

That's encouraging! Sounds do-able, thanks :)

I just saw your other thread about XC schooling, I went to Gawcott today, is my local one too. Small world! ;)

It was quite surreal watching you jump what I'd been jumping a few hours ago lol. I pretty much jumped the same fences, apart from the steps into the water - although we can jump out.

I'm the other side of Buckingham, near Winslow but not far from Stowe

Ha, everyone always tells me I grin constantly out hunting (and at most other times as well) :p I never notice oops!
It sure was a fabulous day, can't wait until Stowe meet, just really need to get the woolly mammoth clipped beforehand ;)

(and oh, I got HUGELY lost on the way back, didnt get back til gone 6 and got my mum to meet me about halfway back to take saddle and walked the last 5 miles oops! Got the blisters to prove it now as well - ouch!)

I didn't realise you came off! Hope you are ok :)

There were a few really little ones ( I did those haha!), I didn't do any of the big hedges, did the little one though, and lots of 75cmish (I think?) post and rail type things etc that were really nice!
I think there was a way round pretty much everything that day? (although correct me if I'm wrong) so was all lovely.
Those huge hedges really are huge :O is my dream to jump one of them out hunting one day, but spud needs longer legs first! And I need jumping confidence :p

Ahh cool- that sounds alright! Will go to Plum Park when they have another one there then :) I keep having nightmare visions of 5ft hedges with ditches that you can't go round. 75cm-ish I can do! We also have little pony legs and I am a wimp :/

I am so excited! Need to get out more lol - but work really dull atm so hunting thoughts are filling my head haha

yeah, if me and spud can get round anyone can!!! :p
you could also go normal hunting as well, where I think a lot of stuff is optional? I went last year and didn't jump anything as was our first time out and spud very green with jumping!
