I have painted a few horseboxes in the past and never had a problem (they where all metal bodies) my new one is fiber glass and the paint just keeps coming up like a ripple effect in large places.

I am using gloss paint and it is over the top of the old paint. Would it make a difference if i'm painting on metal or fiberglass, or could it be the paint is no good (only bought it last week)

Do i need special paint for fiber glass or is gloss ok and i just have to find out why it is doing this.

Any help would be great as i'm feed up of keep sanding out the bad bits.

Sound like the paint is having a reaction with the underlying layer, this does happen with fibreglass if the prep isn't completed (and sometimes when it is!)
You'll need to flat it back (or the paint shop will) and start again.
It will keep on happening the more you put on otherwise :(
