Anyone rate the John Whitaker tack??

I quite like the look of the JW bridles, but who makes them??

Are they comparable to Stubben in quality?

Not had a JW bridle but had the odd bit of JW clothing and hated the stuff. Their rugs are crap quality too IMO. So personally I wouldnt go near it, they're pricey so Id rather go for a Stubben.

Not too keen on the bridles, they aren't too bad but I would pick a Stubben over them but their saddles are great....soooooooo comfy!

I don't like the clip fastenings personally and the reins hurt my hands.

the jw girth is lovely... really soft leather. got that as a present tho so no idea what the rest of the stuff is like.

his Pessoa clone is very good AND it comes with the roller, unlike the 'real' pessoa

so if the bridle quality matches that then I'd reckon it'd be OK

I saw some of the range at Robinsons the other week.

Let's say I wouldn't cross the room to buy it, thought it was very tacky (excuse the pun, very unintentional!

To be honest I think you pay a premium for the name & I don't much like the burgundy colour anyway....I like stubben bridles, they fit & suit my lad & they wear well. I think I'll stick with what I have

Wow theres alot of bad experiences with Whitaker stuff out there.

I have a whitaker bridle (came with ponio when i bought her) and i think its lovely. I also jump in a whitaker close contact saddle and its very nice indeed....

I have the v check breatplate. It's nice quality and is standing up well to heavy daily work. Can't complain at all. I'd buy another.
