Anyone receive the group email from Liverpool wood pellets?

There's a bit of discussion of that e-mail on the Shwmae thread, along the lines of 'how it should be done, compare and contrast' if you are interested.

Can't use wood pellets myself, though, my bu99er eats them.

I haven't received one although I'm a regular customer. My last order didn't arrive when expected but a phone call to LWP got an apology and delivery the next day. I think they are a very good company to deal with and haven't had a problem in the past.

Yes, but having been so badly messed around and not having my queries handled politely or promptly it would take an extremely good deal to make me change back to them as a supplier.

I have received the email. I have used them for 6 years but stopped at the end of last year due to the slow delivery times etc. I have now ordered from somewhere far cheaper and am awaiting delivery of the pellets. If the quality is as good as LWP then I will stay with the new (cheaper) supplier, but if not, then I will try LWP again as the quality of their premium pellets is pretty good and the price is not that bad.

I use straw at the moment as it's free in return for some carting at harvest time but when I used them they were always good (their chosen pallet company sometimes less so) I used to love my pre Christmas order as it always had a few chocolates wrapped in so a nice mucking out supprise in Jan!

Hmmm, my order was a day late that's all, but what if I'd been in work? Luckily I wasn't. Rude delivery driver and I had to phone and complain .... Frightened the living day lights out of me with a face like a shovel and an attitude like a drunk Vinnie Jones. A google of the company they used showed they had a terrible reputation, guess that's why they were cheap and so used by lwp

If it was Palletways (Mitchells) they are indeed terrible, but sadly most suppliers use them. One driver drove over our wooden garden furniture and they refused to give us any compensation. The set cost more than £500 and it was well out of the way, and he drove FORWARDS over it! I asked LWP to use a different delivery company and they agreed, but then sent Mitchells anyway! Grrr!

Oh dear, no wagtail it wasn't them. I also phoned the delivery company and complained about the thug with the attitude lol

I also got the email and thought it was a reasonable attempt to acknowledge some of the issues. I disagreed with them though in that they claimed to have had issues around last sept - I think they have always had delivery issues, at least for the last 18 months which is how long I have been a customer overall. I also found them somewhat rude on the phone only in December when they couldn't be arsed to check on a delivery for me that was already 2 weeks late. I will be interested to see if they have sorted out the delivery chain, which is the main weak point.

To be honest a company that admits:

'We ballsed up a few things ourselves...'
Has got my vote :D. I think it was a nice thing to do, I'm back on straw now but I certainly would use them again in the future because of their honesty.
