Anyone receive weird scam type text messages ????

Myself , my mother, a few of my friends kepp receiving these weird scam type text messages .

Start off saying "Hi how u "


we have all replied saying , " sorry who is this , dont have your number etc "

It replies saying " its chris , ive just sold my flats, made a good profit , wat u been upto ? "

we reply : "Sorry you have wrong number I dont know you "

the number texts back saying " Who that , who ru ? "

my friend replied , " why are u texting me if you dont know who i am "


Its weird and as iot goes on , the spelling and englisg gets poorer and poorer ,

so ........ I recently got a new mobile , around 6 weeks ago and only selesct friends and family have it , so imagine my shock when i get these exact same text messages again to my new number ????


Just wondered if anyone else has had this , My friends and i think it is some kind of fishing for private information thing to maybe steal identity etc , they wopuld nt get much from my bank account tho !!!!

i had 1 on monday saying "hi hun u k" that was it i replied "sorry who is this?" but havent had any reply wonder if it could be the same thing as im in scotland as well ???? cam pm u the number if you like ????

That has happened to me twice. Both times i had advertisements in my local paper for things for sale which had my mobile number on. They started off as though they were texting someone they knew. When i text back saying you have the wrong number they carried on. Then they started to get rube so i reported them. And changed my number.

Be really careful with this... I had a message a while ago saying hi how are you? If you ring the number back it is an adult chat line. I googled it first before I rang, so thankfully didn't get stung by phone charges.
