Any ideas please of best way to go about hunting hol in Ireland please? Any past experiences be welcomed too! Have been lucky enough to judge hunters in Ireland twice & have always fancied hunting out there! As long as I don't kill myslef- I have to work & look after my own horses so can't be incapacitated! ha ha Be a few of us that would like to go over - ranging from ex pt-pt jockey to a few newish to hunting bods!

I can highly reccomend the Dunraven Arms in Adare. We stayed there two nights and they orgaised us a day with the Limerick Foxhounds. They even organised the hirelings for us!

We've just got back... so... Hired horses from Oliver Walsh at Flowerhill, near Ballinasloe. Had a day out with the East galway (a steady sort of a day watching hounds work, but good company) and then sunday we were out with Oliver's pack the Roscommon. that was a fast day of wall hopping. the horses were excellent, and so bold.

would highly recommend.

we arranged self catered accommodation, but I believe that Flowerhill has accommodation there too.

Dunraven Arms every time if you are looking for an experience from the moment you get up to the moment you stagger back into the hotel bar still in your hunting gear from whatever pub (with a compulsory craic) the hunt finished at!
