Just can't work out what use there is in a browband - it isn't like with the overlarge ones you are in risk of the bridle slipping off the back of the head?! Does anyone ride regularly without one (and without a split ear headpiece)? Trying to get madam 100% comfy in her head as when it is warm she can get even more sensitive, everything already made to fit perfectly so trying the less is more options now!

You could try wrapping a fleece to absorb sweat on browband, tbh it is when I finish riding that I have to wash off the sweat with an anti-itch wash, some horses suit no browband, but they might prevent bridle coming off at some stage.

I ride without one. Henry used to have one, but it doesn't fit his sidepull well and I got sick of trying to find one that did (the one it came with didn't fit him). It does have a noseband, though, plus an integrated throat lash (it's stitched to the cheek pieces).

I used to ride a very good horse which not only was exercised without a browband but also raced without it. You couldn't get one over his ears. I don't see a problem with it. Just maybe have the throat lash a hole or two tighter.
