I have no intention of riding in today's weather! My friend however is going to ride hers today which I think is very brave, although she knows her horse very well. Am I scared of a little wind?? You bet! Plus my horse is scared of nature! Anyone feel the same

I've already ridden. It started to rain the last 100 yards of my ride but was so windy it was unreal. I have never had my sinuses emptied by suction before!

Mare had no intention of working nicely nor any concept of that thing called "walk" so we trotted round the four mile block apart from when someone raised their hand to say hello and we got a very fancy canter sideways across the road. She's supposed to be being used as a lunge test guinea pig tomorrow in an outdoor school. That should be interesting if the weather's like it is today.

Me! No fair weather rider, I

I was going to go hunting but my lift can't go so I had a bikini wax

, am going to ride then have a violin lesson instead

I may just go in the school, though, but only because bot my hacking routes involve going through woods and I'm a little worried about falling branches as the trees in them are always a little bit dodgy in this sort of weather.

I managed to get 2 ridden this morning, schooled the big fella and took my mare out for a hack

Should be riding the TB but weather has just got worse so will now stay inside and not brave it again

Nope, but then both horse and I are broken.

I think a trip to the tack shop and some poo picking shall be my horsey time this afternoon

Lets just say...may horse doesn't like wind especially when the roof is lifting up...eeek!

Should have gone to YH live instead

Im still deciding if i am going to ride or not. I should do really as he had yesterday off but he hates the wind and rain. May attempt riding in the school, then i can bring him straight out if he is too silly.

really should... but weather is rather off putting, as is a spooky tb and a livewire of a horse who finds anything and everything disturbing even in nice weather!

No, have just gone to tack shop with friend for coffee but only as horse been kicked and not quite sound. My weekends are precious riding time whatever the weather, unless it's dangerous to go out. Not too bad here though

Nope - losing roof tiles and all sorts here. Wouldn't put myself or my horse in that sort of danger just for a ride. Lovely blue sky though which is making me feel guilty but that filthy wind is just too strong. We are getting the worst of it here in the South

i have already this morning, went for a lovely hack it was very windy leaves blowing everywhere, but the old boy wasnt bothered, it just started to rain when we got back and hasnt stopped since so i wont be riding later on like i planned but purely because horse will be wet not because of the weather

No one to hack out with (poo poo poo poo) so I did some interval training in the quagmire masquerading as our outdoor. Got soaked, poor George didn't enjoy is one bit (usually loves it) and I ended up coming home and stuffing my face with chocolate raisins - am currently sulking! And my tack got wet through and covered in sand so got tack cleaning to do! Grump grump grump grump grump!!!!

Rode this morning at 9.15am and managed to ride in a lull, although it was windy it wasn't trecherous and we stayed away from the trees as much as possible. 10 mins after returning it started to lash down and the wind got up so much that Ted actually lay down in the field and stayed there until I went and got him in!

I've already ridden

Went to a short hack while youngest was occupied learning how to drive a carriage D

Was rather windy and cold but dry and the old girl was on her toes

Glad to be home now though as it is raining and looks like its in for the rest of the afternoon

Rode at half 8 this morning, Hen though the wind up his bum was rather fun! we had jogging and head tossing the whole way round!
Managed to stay dry right up until we got home, at which point I threw him in the field, mucked out and dashed inside feeling smug that I had managed to ride and walk the dog whilst it was dry

Yep hacked mine out this morning he was a good boy but the wind took my breath away - thought I was going to be blown off at one point!
Did anyone else get that huge thunder storm and hail?

weather poo here. Hacked out early (8am) this morning in fab sunshine. We were due to go to dressage at Addington this pm but as we were about to go the heavens opened and it has been blowing
fit to bust ever since. So we decided to wimp out - there alway another day.

Nope -no riding. I put my mare out for a few hours then she came running to the gate an hour later screaming to come in!. My young boy flipped out when I walked him to his field when a bin fell over in front of him - then he saw his reflection in the road mirror and freaked then he jumped when he walked in a puddle. So didn't ride him either!

Nope, blowing a hooley here, all the horses came in on their toes, very unsettled. Milly is sharp at the best of times so i think i would be asking for trouble getting on today! Evenmy daughters solid little shetland X Exmoor came in like a fire breathing dragon!!

SO cross. It wasn't too bad for an hour or so first thing this morning, but I'd already decided that as the forecast said it would improve during the afternoon I would leave riding til later. It's calming down a bit now, but at 3.30 it was still blowing a gale and pouring so horses had an early night.

Er... I arrived at the field in driving rain, wind, thunder, lightning... All 3 were careering round the field as if the sky was falling. I took out their feeds, discovered a rug was leaking, traipsed back to the yard, got a fresh rug and halter, struggled back to the field looking like a ship in full sail. Grabbed pone and swapped his rugs, while he told me that we were all going to die at any moment and his friends rushed about helpfully screaming in the background . Replaced hose in water trough that it was supposed to be filling, getting soaked in the process, because the wind had blown it out of the barrel! I got hold of my trusty wheelbarrow containing a bale of hay and trundled it to a sheltered corner of the field, while being dive-bombed by my lovely neds. Distributed the hay. Turned into the face of the wind and had difficulty keeping my feet as I fought my way back. Chased my Aussie waterproof hat that never comes off my head across the field until it landed up in a muddy puddle. Crammed said hat under my arm. Abandoned trusty barrow just outside the gate as the rain started to get heavier (I didn't even know it COULD rain heavier than that!). Did I ride?

Did I fcuk.

I schooled at lunchtime during a lull. It was OK for most of it (windy but no rain) but towards the end it started to bucket down. With five mins left to our schooling time, it came down really heavy and so we called it a day and headed into the dryness of the stable!!
Am pleased I forced myself out, it was my first time riding Andy in weather that bad, and as ever he was a star and not bothered by it at all (until the last downpoor when I think he had had enough!).
Not checked the weather tomorrow, hopefully its going to be better...
