Not sure if I'm allowed to post this...?

I have a friend who fits generators and can give you a competitive quote, he is in the process of making up a website, but if you are interested PM me and I can put you in touch with him. He covers all of Scotland. :)

You know it is not a bad idea if you're out in the sticks and at the mercy of the Hydro who will be focussing on the villages and towns first.

My friend was left without power after the storm and only got it back on last night. I wouldn't say we are THAT remote either, and I'm sure there are people worse off.

Although saying that, if they don't have power they won't be able to read this will they? ;)

If you are in Kent one power company is offering to pay for Christmas dinner at a restaurant for customers without power. They were appealing for restaurant owners to come forward on the BBC news.

When the power was off locally recently Scottish hydro sent out wagons (basically burger vans) to feed people and provide hot drinks and hot water for babies etc and also phone charging facilities.

Not quite as classy as a restaurant but not sure restaurants would have power either whereas these wagons ran on generators anyway.
