Im undecided what to feed my 8yr old 15.3hh irish cobs. at the moment i am feeding him on : cherry chaff, speedi-beat, garlic and pony nuts.

what do you suggest on feeding him??

someone told me pony mix???

i had some advice on speedi-beat and all it does is make your horse put on weigh so im nt using it (well in the summer lol)

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Does he need feeding? If he is the right weight and has enough energy for you I would just give him some chaff and vitamins - or nothing at all.

I don't feed any of my horses as they don't need it.

You cannot feed your horse only based on age, height and breed. Weigh him, tell us what workload he is in, whether he is doing well on his current feed or not, condition score, temperament...
Likelihood is though, as DD said, he won't need feeding at this time of year.

My irish cob gets nothing at the mo, she does have a vit/min lick and that is it. I probably (depending on grass) wont start feeding her till Nov.

Mine gets vitamins and minerals only, a few carrots and the grass in the field. Finally he looks the right weight.
Have feed Baileys Low-Cal previously and that is what he will go back on in winter.
If your horse looks well why feed him?
the last thing you want is a fattie!!
I would get out the weight tape first and do a condition score, as others have advised.
