just wondering really, last summer I spent an awful lot of money on various creams and fly sprays that either didn't work, or worked for a very short period before the flies started irritating my mare again.
I have heard some good things about Global Herbs's Skratch/ Skratch plus, which sounds good for horses that become itchy, and I know they also manufacture a supplement called Flyfree; I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this and whether it worked? currently horse gets fed garlic all year round, slightly more in summer.
I am not sure if the flies are invinsible in my area (Buckinghamshire) and we seem to have a lot of midges and horseflies. I have tried many different fly sprays, but if you have found any that really do seem to work, please share them here! I watched the thread about own fly sprays and remedies closely but sadly haven't found a combination that works
I have heard that putting 1 gallon apple cider vinegar to 5 gallons water makes the blood less appealing to flies, but I don't know if this is proven or just an old wives tale.
I would just like to find out any possibilities before we hit the fly season!
thanks
