Anyone tried Nellie O'Neil riding socks with built in chaps??

As the title really!!
Have just come across these in my quest to find something cooler than my long boots for summer riding, it gets very hot here and even now my feet are roasting, iv'e never ridden in short boots and chaps and iv'e no idea if that combination will even make a difference but i saw these funky looking things and thought i'd ask you lot if they are worth a shot, not sure if the link will work tho

My daughter had a pair last year. They were very disappointing - the "chaps" bit rubbed / fell of in a matter of days and the stitching at the toe was too bulky to be comfortable in a riding boot. (They are quite thick too - I doubt they would be a cooler option for hot weather.) When we complained we were told they were not meant for regular or hard use - so not really sure what they were for! The idea of sock chaps is great - but the execution wasn't. You'd be better of just in long socks if this is what you want.

When it gets hot we use short boots and mesh chaps instead. A couple of brands make them - we have these form just chaps:

so i would be totally wasting my money then!!! i did think that might be the case and i couldn't tell how thick they were.
how disappointing!!
i shall have a look at those chaps or just try in socks,stupid i know but i feel naked and uncomfortable without my Kanyons! x
