Been looking for cheaper beeding as my new lad has to come in for box rest after surgery, I normally use shavings on rubber matting.Dont know how clean he wil be as hes only been with me since end april and been living out.
Shavings are £7.50 bale .What do you pay:)

I use wood pellets not tried straw, search straw pellets there's an old thread from last year posted by oberon, good read if you are interested.

I pay 3.50 a bag, we order a pallet between us, there's some good deals on ebay

Yes, and to use on their own they are awful. So so dusty, everything gets covered in a yellow dust. However, they are amazing to use under shavings, soak up all the urine and it stays in one place, and there's no dust. I have 5 Part liveries plus 2 of mine in for 18 hours per day in winter (sometimes more) and they each use half a bale of shavings and half a bag of pellets per week. Plus it's the easiest bed to muck out ever!

We pay £6.50 for Natural Flake shavings, £6.00 for Hippofan shavings and £5.50 for Safemix (plus VAT).

£3.50 sounds good is that 15 kg bags where do you gt yours from :)

I have been using them for over a year and really like them. Yes they can be dusty at times but it doesnt bother me as they are so so so easy to muck out and super absorbent. I will put up with a bit of dust!! :D

I get mine from pelletbeds too and have used both their Max and Pure range - pretty much identical so go for the cheaper ones (Max range) :)
