Anyone use a furminator?

I am getting covered in fluff everyday by my 3 horses loosing their winter coats and and truely fed up with it! Anyone use a furminator? How do they work and are they worth buying?

The furminator is basically half a clipper blade on a handle.

They only work on some coats at certain stages of shedding and you can as good results with a hacksaw blade.

Might stick with the trusty rubber curry comb then - I hate those shedding blades

I tried one having high hopes for it making the whole moulting stage easier...I found it to be utter rubbish and returned it for a refund
I know some people seem to rate them though.

I have one, and think it's amazing! It really pulls the coat out without getting them all scurfy, and you can dehair them without getting covered yourself!
