It's time for our trailer insurance renewal and I'm trying to save money. E & L have quoted £138 which is REALLY cheap. However, they don't appear to have a good reputation on here so I was wondering if anybody had any experience (good or bad) of their trailer insurance. Many thanks.

E&L are cheap for a reason, as they save so much money by not paying out on claims wherever possible! Given the bad reputation they have for horse insurance i would not use them for any sort of insurance whatsoever :s

Is that an annual quote or have you taken their monthly quote and multiplied by 12? E & L are quite well know for putting in the very small print the fact that their months are lunar months, i.e. 28 days so you make 13 payments a year, not 12.

Like *******, I wouldn't touch them with someone else's bargepole...

It's an annual quote. Any other recommendations for trailer insurance?

We always used to have our trailers and lorries registered with NFU as they weer quite cheap and reliable but i know for some policies you had to have something else insured with them (cant remmeber if you had to have horses insured with them in order to have the tariler insured or vice versa) :)

My friend used e&l for her trailer insurance and we had an accident which resulted in the trailer being written off. E&l paid out without a problem for only a little less than she paid for it! X

Cannot talk about trailer insurance but I know that several local vets consider you to be uninsured if you are covered by E&L........................... they wouldn't say that unless they had had bad experiences with trying to get paid for their work. :(

I've used E&L without problems, other than found them bit slow to pay out but not unwilling. Had biggish claim for pony with tendon injury and small one when trailers at our yard were vandalised.
