anyone use equilibrium equichaps?

We use them and yes the legs are dry, you need to ensure that you have the right size and that they are done up properly. I've found that around the bottom if in mud the mud can work up and get stuck inside the boot, but the rest of the leg is dry enough to bandage.

Prefer the equilibrium ones as they are shaped and have had fit problems with the cheaper and not shaped alternatives.

Wouldn't pay the full price though, have one horse who delights in trashing them - more time on the sewing machine than off. Got mine at tabletop sales.

I had the hardy chaps. They gave my horse cellulitis. It took about 9 months to get rid of it completely, and many vet bills. I wouldn't touch them again with the worlds longest bargepole.

whereas we have used the hardy chaps for at least 4 years on one mare every day in the winter and never had a problem :).

I had them to use on my old yard as my horse came in daily with cuts and YO insisted it was my stupid horse not the stupid unsafe field.

Anyhow they were good but as his field was a mud bath especially at the gate way the bottoms used to turn over and mud would get in but they kept his legs cut free. They were also good in the fact there was so much mud I would have to hose them down and then take home wash and dry ready for next day - they lasted well!
