Do you fill them with anything to make them heavier? Like water or sand? I just wondered as mine arrived in the post this morning and I notice they each have a little removeable bung.
I have the full size blocks and the polepods (not mini blocks )
The full size blocks are fine with no filling but the polepods I have filled with sand as I had an incident where one of my horses kick one whilst troting over a pole balanced on it and it flicked up and hit him under the belly .(made for an interesting leap in the air).
I would say that you would be safer with them heavier and sand doesn't slosh about which water would .
You probably wouldn't have to fill them totally full just make them heavier poss half full.
On the plus side I have had mine for 28 years and they are still in good working order and they were store outside for many years.
I have certainly were value for money .
Hope that helps.
My Pony Club has them, they're fine for the littlies but for the bigger horses they are a bit light... ours are kept outside so are nearly always at least half full with water anyway...
Okey doke, seems they'll be better filled with water before I use them then. I bought them for my super clumsy 650kg horse so no doubt she'll be knocking the poles a good few times and I'd hate for a block to flick up and whack her. She's quite stressy enough without being given genuine reasons!
