was looking paddock cleaners and although they promise the earth am not sure whether they would actually be any good in reality.

wondering if anyones used any of them

have looked into these machines but would love any feedback on any of them- have an inkling that they may end up rusting in a heap in the corner when i go back to the goood ol' trusty wheelbarrow and shovel.

i had a waste warrior paddock sweeper, and it ended up standing in the stable while i used a barrow...

i now have a john deere gator, perfect size and tyres (does no damage) for nipping about the fields. i use it as a motorised wheelbarrow, with big tubtrugs in the back which i skip the muck into, and then drive to muckheap. if i'd got one with electric tipping back i could have used the back as the wheelbarrow!
it's the only thing that hasn't done my back in and that i happily do paddocks with 2x daily... i know they're ££s but they come up on ebay sometimes and are absolutely brilliant.

thanks, have heard alot of bad things about the sweepers- that they just spread more muck than they remove but dont know alot about the vacuum ones.
will go and have a look at the gator thing though.............

we have a lawn mower type one, i think a sweeper, it works really well, picks up all the poo, really quick BUT you cant use it the ground is wet....

I have a maxi tipper. we looked into the different makes and that one came out the best for us(engine, fuel, etc). We dont use it in the winter because the ground is too wet to drive over. Time wise its probably about the same as with a wheelbarrow, maybe a bit quicker. The hoses are heavy but you get used to it. Overall it is good though bcause you get every bit of muck up. You do have to buy petrol for it though. I like it but there are disadvantages. I am glad i bought one though. No more blisters and the fields look great!

We have the trafalgar. It does a good job of picking up muck but can get very heavy when full. Can use it when ground is wet but if the muck is wet you can hardly move it when it is full. I definitely prefer it to a wheelbarrrow and fork though.

I've used a mini tippa.. It doesn't pick up wet muck very well, and the hose had to be replaced, but it was brill when it was dry/semi-dry.. It was easy to empty and good to tow

ok thanks for the info.

the traflagar is supposed to be the market leader but i'm a bit put off that it still runs on a 2 stroke engine which means it wont have as much power, the mini/maxi tippas i like and it seems really good but maybe a bit heavier than the plastic ones

i love the look of the terra vac as you can drive whilst the machine picks up the poo and also has a massively wide hose so less blockages- but it looks like it weighs a ton.

going to have to get them all out to demo i think!!

anyone got the terra vac or know anyone who's ever seen/used one??
