Was flicking through the books that the book man left for us at work yesterday (those not familiar with the book man, its a company that comes round every month, drops off a variety of books/kitchen gadgets/kids toys for you to look at, you order and he then collects your money/order and brings the stuff out of his van for you).
There was a book about cider vinegar and one of the suggestions was to soak a rag in cider vinegar, apply to horses swelling (presumably leg) and wrap in plastic and then bandage. Leave on for four hours and the swelling will be visibly reduced.
Quite interested to note if anyone had every heard of this or done this to their horses. I am guessing that the reason the swelling goes down is the compression of the bandage and not the apple cider vinegar but hey, I may well be wrong.
