Just looking at which one to buy, he has got a snuggy hood but not overly impressed as its nearly in shreds after 2 months and takes too long to dry.
So now which one do you recommend Boett is too expensive as already bought the snuggy hood this year.
Rambo sweet itch looks quite good but hear horses can get over heated etc?
Premiere equine one looks similar to rambo one and is reasonably priced so wondered if anyone had used one?

A mare I look after has a Rambo Sweet Itch Hoody. It's my first experience of a sweet itch rug really and I have to say it is fab. I was worried about over heating but she always feels cooler than the ones with no rug on. It has given her excellent protection and has worn really well. I think the rug is about 4 years old, worn 24/7 from March til October and has few signs of wear now but still more than adequate for its purpose. I'd buy one if I needed to.

I agree that the Rambo Hoody is the best. Very tough and though hotter than a normal fly rug, they are fine for all but the very hottest days when there aren't any midges in the daytime anyway.

Rambo Hoody every time!! They reflect the suns rays and horse I know that wears them all the time in Summer has never been hot and sweaty under his. Wear and wash extremely well
and if my horses needed one that would be it.

I bought the original PE fly rug I think about 4 years ago and it is still going strong despite being used 24/7 all summer on my horse who has mild sweet itch and lives out. We now stock them in my shop and have had loads of people in who had bought the rambo and thought it was a good rug until they had seen the PE. Touch wood we've not had one back and lots of good reports from people. Hope that helps.

Rambo Sweet Itch Hoody. my mare has never sweated in hers, and it's doing its second summer (just had to repair elastic tail loop, the only sign of wear) when the other fly rugs i've bought have lasted a few months. doesn't rub, does a great job. can't recommend it enough.

Well..... last year I got the Premier Equine one, which did him through the summer without too much mending!

I've got another one for this year, BUT it seems to be a tad smaller than last years one, hope they're not cutting on the material here.

I've also been lent a Rambo sweet itch hoody, which is a bit small for my man but I'm gonna order one PDQ coz it seems to do the job without too much getting out the mending equipment!

I've got a Pessoa Sweet itch hoody, brilliant, absolutely fab, got it from Robinsons, BUT they don't seem to have them this year (tho' having said that I think I got it in the winter sale - WHY don't suppliers have sweet itch rugs when you need them??? :( grrrrhhh!
