If so with what results please. I have a horse recovering from a bacterial infection so my vet has suggested it as a pick me up for her. He said it's a good idea to give it for a week once or twice over winter to keep my girls from getting under the weather. What do you think?

Yes I used it for my mare who (when I first got her) couldnt cope with being on a livery yard and seemed to pick up every virus going. Does wonders for the coat/general condition and stopped Madam picking up viruses. BUT just as a warning - a friend fed it to her fit mare and it actually made the mare very OTT so that is worth thinking of

Yes, I used it for my cob when he was recovering from a virus and he lacked any energy or sparkle, this was also recommended by my vet. It worked very well & he seemed to pick up quickly, gave him energy & he seemed to like the taste of it!

Have used it a few times & found it very good, i also found that if the horse is really low they don't tend to hot up on it. It really helped when one of my horses had a nasty Virus a few years back.

I used something called 'Back on form' when my mare had a virus last winter and was a bit flat but only cos theydidn't have propell plus, it is meant to be very good. Also another thing is I always put my girl on echinacea in the winter, I wasn't sure it did anything but the only year I didn't use it she got sick so maybe there is something in it! I just give it to her for a week beginning each month.

Definately is a pick me up! I used it on my lad & the improvement was amazing! He actually felt a little too well TBH!

We use Propel Plus or Red Cell which is very similar on our horses. It's really good when one is getting over a virus. You can get it from most tack shops/feed stores for about £25 for the large container. The postage makes it too expensive if you buy it on line.

Yes, I've used it. Was recomended as my boy had a virus & needed a 'pick me up'. Was also going to use if after hunting. However, we haven't been since October... & probably won't go until the end of the season now. But would certainly feed for a day / couple of days post hunting.

OK thank you everybody, I will definately try it and hope it doesn't heat the fit one up too much! I'm sure it will pick up the poorly one from what you've all said.

Yes I`ve fed it to my mares. S had a bit of a virus last year so I fed it to her and she picked up and was good on it. I tried the Red Cell and it made her like a rubber bouncing ball, inattentive and quite full of herself. So I stick to the propel plus when I think she needs a little boost.

Share horse had some at the end of the summer after he had felt flat and uninterested.
It worked well, but a bit too much, after a week he was very, very full of himself. I had a couple of rides with not as much brakes and steering as I would like!!!!
