Hi, I've had my horse on a free trial of Spillers Winergy Equilibrium with fantastic results: he's lost weight, not napping or spooking half so much and his coat is fantastic looking, but I just can't fund this lovely new feed after the trial is up. At the feed rate I am meant to give him and have been giving him, it amounts to 3KG per day. This works out at approx £10.50 every five days - he is a 17.1hh WB. To cut a long story short I rang up Spillers Nutrionists and compared their various feeds on the internet and I am going to start using Cool Fibre as it has nearly the same make up as the Equilibrium blue lo cal stuff but without the vitamins. You can feed this on its own at the same volume as the Equilibrium or you can feed a smaller amount with a mix (such as their cool mix). Has anyone fed it either way and how have they got on with it? Can you half the cool fibre if just fed on its own without too dramatic weight loss? I need a cost effective lo cal chaff and as I was so impressed with Spillers I wanted to keep with them.
