I *might have sold my saddle privately. Someone is double checking with her saddler that it would be suitable but I had already filled out online forms etc to get quotes from The saddle Bank and Sheepham. Sheepham I’ve not heard back from at all but the first I have and firstly the lady I’m dealing with is
nice! (To me this makes a big difference)
They have emailed me their T&C and a email saying I would clear x amount. I’m not 100% sure, does that mean before or after they take their commission?
Also how likely is it that once I’ve spent £25 posting it to them that they alter the sales price? I’ve been honest and taken the exact photos required but is that likely?
How long do these kind of places take to sell? Looking at various sites my kind of saddle seems to be often out on trial but I’m not sure if they actually sell and of course what happens if it’s damaged whilst on trial? I assume I still get paid?!!
I’m happy with the money offered (as long as that’s after commission!)

*it is they just got back to me!

The other questions apply!!

I have both bought and sold a saddle through the saddle bank - very happy with their services. Have a look at the reviews on their FB page.

The saddles seem to go quick. I know when I was looking I kept an eye on their site and stock changed rapidly. I trialed two, neither of which were any good but the service from them was great. I've never sold through them though.

Great. I’ve got in touch with the possible private buyer, trying hard not to come across as pushy but think I’ll just go with this if she doesn’t want it. She lives a long way away and is worried about buying something so expensive unseen and untried. Totally fair enough.
This seems a good option to me.
