Anyone used this dog poo wormery?

Oh, okay...that's what I was concerned about - that it was deferring the problem rather than dealing with it.

Hey ho, too good to be true, perhaps.

But there doesn't seem to be any way to deal with the vast banks of poo apart from putting it in an alfa-A bag & putting it in the bin, which I don't think it very nice :-(

We just keep a small bin the garden which is lined with a carrier bag, poo pick the garden every day and then just put it in the landfill bin once a fortnight.

That is pretty well what we're doing, except with a large alfa sack instead of a small bin!

Will keep doing that then. Thank you - that's saved me some money!

Years ago my Mum had a small dustbin like device that you put some sort of fluid in to break the poo down, she put her dog's poo in it and it seemed to vanish, not sure how environmentally friendly it was but it seemed to work and no smells. It is not the same as you are showing us I know that much, I will try to find one on ebay and post it on this thread to show you. I have 3 dogs and I put the poo in dog poo bags and bin it so I would like to investigate other options to avoid so much landfill as well to be honest.
Oz :)

I recently found a company which makes proper bio degradable pooh bags, which degrade on submersion in water, so can be flushed down a domestic loo. That's great, but the thing I was really interested in was an attachment they make which fits onto a normal household waste pipe. It's like the attachments you get to fit a water butt to a down pipe. You then attach a hose pipe & 'flush' the pooh down the sewer. I don't see why you would need to bag it first if collecting from you own garden, but handy when out on walks.

I can't remember the name, but when I get a chance I'll have a look for it, but it just came up on a google search for bio degradable pooh bags.

Why don't you just collect it in a bucket and chuck it down the manhole cover? That's what we did when we were connected to mains sewerage.
We have a tank now and I just take the buckets out to the field and it mulches down in no time (it's a scrubby field with nothing grazing it and only the dogs use it).

Ah, CaveCanem......someone else wth a "multiple dog" househld told us to do this! We have eight dogs plus dogs which come to stay so, basically, lots of deposits! I go round the garden twice a day with a Stubbs scoop and rake (which is really easy) then dump it in a bin lined with a woodchip sack which, once a week goes in our general waste wheelie bin. In the summer it was GROSS - maggots - ugh - freaked me out! We haven't got mains drainage and everything goes into a septic tank but there is a man hole in our front garden.......should I just lift this and chuck it down there?

Yeah we've got a septic tank too, which reminds me... I need to get it emptied!

Thank you v much for the reminder or I'd have forgotten again!
