how long did it take for the wart to go? Vet thinks my horses nodule is a wart, however it could be a sarcoid. after3 days of treatment all thats happened is the "wart" has softened. Am thinking of getting Newmarket cream. If it really is a wart then would this work too. Vet suggested wart cream, engine grease or camrosa. I dont want to try engine grease or camrosa TBH.

I had my horses sarcoids lasered off and the vet gave me some cream to apply to the wounds and it was the same active ingredient as cold sore cream - Aciclovir 5%.
It's basically an antiviral cream which given the current theory is that sarcoids are linked to a virus & some research has shown this active ingredient has some benefits to sarcoids. I always have a tube in my first aid kit now.
I wouldn't know it's effect on warts though so I would speak to an expect in warts & sarcoids. I would recommend Jeremy Kemp-Symonds.
Definitely wouldn't put camrosa or engine grease on it !!

Sarcoids are very serious and should not be messed with. They can ulcerate at any point even if looking like they are healing. Herbal remedies do not work on sarcoids. They may change / improve their appearance but they will not kill the root.
Have a look at:

Professor Knottenbelt at Universty of Liverpool is wehre all the referrals are sent from individuals or vets. He will look at the photos are issue protocol (treatment), e.g. laser, liverpool cream etc. He will also state % cream and how long for e.g. 75% cream over 4 days with 24 hours apart.

It may be be worth you taking pics and referring. If your vet refers theres a £50 charge.
My horse went through Liverpool Cream treatment (AW4-LUDES which contains active ingredient 5-Fluoro-uracil). This cream can only be administered by a vet.

Hope this helps.

Yes, my mare has some on her girlie bits and vet recommended treating with aciclovir as if left they can turn into squamous cell carcinoma which is malignant. Took about 6 weeks to clear.
