After a bit of fuss over a repeat box of danilon - i spoke with my vet and he had no issue in allowing a box of danilon to be posted to me - his requirement is to see the horse every 12 months - and he will tie it in to vac's to help - YEAH FOR THE VET.

So - i phoned the practice and paid for the box to be posted out..... great we all may say - however when i checked my online banking i found that £60.00 had been taken from my account - not the £45 i was expecting..... I phone said office and asks why.....?

And I still cant believe the answer...... its more because we had to talk to you !? ok understand maybe £5.00 more but £15.00 for having a 3 min conversation....... ? and who said vets arn't in it for the huge profitt they can make !

So please ask - is it cheaper to buy off the internet site, is it cheaper to have it put on my account, is it cheaper to pay now, is it cheaper to collect etc - then you wont be £15 out of pocket for talking !

my vets have never charged a fee for talking to me, i have my vets direct mobile number. i always go and pick prescriptions up, by the surgery is on my way home. however i do pay about £60 for a box of 60 danilon. (or rather my insurance company did..

Bloody hell. When tubs was injured I was NEVER of the phone to my vet. Sometimes two or three times a day and he would never charge me for that.

In fact our practise has a policy if the vet has been out (especially if its been an emergency) to make a courtesy call to see how the horse / pet is doing. And you are never left in any doubt that if you need to speak to them just to call with absolutely no charge.
