Hi all,

To anyone local to Mildenhall, Lakenheath, Beck Row, West Row, Newmarket, Red lodge etc;

I'm new to this site, and pretty new to the horse world in general.
I'm 21 and started riding in June. I am looking for a horse local to me who I can ride to gain more experience, or maybe even spend some time with you at your yard now and then, just so I can learn general horse care.
I ride a 16h ID at the yard where I learn, and at weekends I ride a 17h tb, who I canter with.
I'm just generally looking to get more riding experience and/ or to learn basics.

Merry Christmas :)

Hi, I'm not in your area so can't help, but you could put a postcard in local tackshops offering your help in return for mentoring. Help is often eagerly snapped up by owners at this time of year and you'll gain a lot of practical experience of horsecare during the winter months. Summer will be a welcome relief after months of mud trudging !
Don't know if you've tried it but you could also do a web search for a horse share in your area, some owners have suitable horses for those looking to improve their knowledge.
I think the Newrider forum used to have a mentoring section which might be worth a try also.

Good luck.
