No, it's not that, the one I'm using at the moment belongs to a friend, it fits so nicely that I want to be sure what width it is before I purchase one online. The one I am borrowing is brand new so I know (as well as I can) that if I get the same width online, I should be on the right track. Then my saddler can do any flocking needed. It's not that I don't know how to measure them, I do, it's simply that I don't want to end up buying something that is listed as 'medium' and is actually narrow or something like that. Apparently Jeffries are stamped with their width, that's why I want to know where this is as it is the most reliable measurement for me under the circumstances.

Thank you :)
:( sadly having ummed and ahhhed about sizing the other day I decided that the least I can get away with for regular use is 16 1/2, ideally 17" they are lovely though, and I'm really happy with the one I'm borrowing, considering how much I loved my bates it says a lot that I like the Jeffries!

I will check the width as soon as I get up the yard.

Ahh I see, good luck with the saddle shopping then :)

Funnily enough I'm also after a jeffires at some point, lovely saddles and fit my mare like a glove :)

Yes they are lovely, as I said earlier I've just sold my bates, which was my pride and joy, I was very worried I wouldn't find anything quite so comfy for me or Ben... Jeffries ticks the boxes very well.

OP, I have a almost new 17" MW in black (18 months old now, but only used about 10 times)
Which one of the Jeffries are you after tho?

I'm after a falcon vsd in brown (because I want to show him in it) the one I'm using at the moment is shockingly m fit, can't quite believe it but it's stamped "m" on the bar, and fits Ben perfectly and he goes really nicely in it. He was in a wide gullet with the bates :/

I /think/ someone was selling one of those on the 'Saddles for sale and wanted' group on facebook the other day. If you put a wanted post on there then the seller will probably reply.

(Good choice btw! Got a wide VSD in brown for my girl, so comfy!)

Thank you! I will take a peek. I'm just keeping a north eye out at the moment for a bargain. As I have the use of this one for a while as my friends mare is just about to have a foal so she doesn't need it, still, having ridden in one now and knowing how nice it feels for both Ben and I... I'm definitely getting my own!

I have a farrington go, think its a vsd at the moment and I hate it with a vengeance, I know she had a jeffires before I bought her and the Sadler said it was a perfect fit, so eventually I'm going to get my act together, sell my uncomfy saddle and get a jeffires... Eventually...

Jeffries don't seem to be as popular nowadays, but l love them - my stamford wh saddle is a wide fit & is a lovely fit for my native pony a forward cut interfers with her shoulders. Its so comfy l've spent many hours hacking & used it for showing. Whilst my ISH has a medium fit hawk event thats got a springy seat but its same as the other saddle being very comfy. But my saddles are getting old but l try to look after them as best as l can :)

No you're right, they don't... I have always adored their bridles, they are lovely, but never really looked at or taken an interest in their saddles.... What on earth was I thinking! ;)

Shame you aren't closer - I've got falcon VSD's in W and WW sat in my spare bedroom which you could have tried for fit.
