Anyone work at Darley rehab/rehoming centre?

Well, I tried. I have spoken to them myself on the phone. Is that any help? Are you going to rehome yourself a new hoss PM?

Oo, exciting times :D I would just ring them PM. They're very lovely and very helpful and I think they'd consider you to be an A1 home! They'll make you fill in the super massive form as well I'm sure but no harm giving them a tinkle.

You will keep us posted won't you?

I've already filled in the form and sent it back (electronically) over half an hour ago and still nothing  ;)
Not so sure about the A1 candidate :o

I filled in their form & returned it 2 + years ago & never heard back... so I sourced my own ex-racer.

Apparently they are now better at getting back to people, otherwise you might have a long wait!

T x

PS I may need your calming influence at comps if/when I ever get my transport issues sorted... Trev is a nutter in sj warm-ups.

I have one of their horses, coming up to the end of our 3 month trial now!

I filled the form in via their website, and then was too impatient to wait so called them too lol :) The yard manager Jo is lovely.

I am trying... I had to sell my lorry due to divorce/house needed urgent structural work. I have now got a 4x4 & old rice trailer & new husband, but I have my doubts re travelling Trev in the trailer. Nothing wrong with it; just Trev can be a PITA. It's back on eBay & finishes tonight, then next week (week off) we are hiring an Ifor from Cambridgeshire Horseboxes & going to Lordsbridge for sj lesson & also elsewhere for a dr lesson...if he will load & behave. If not, we will have to get an equitrek instead. Can't get an equitrek til we've got the mortgage in our names as we need to look responsible to the bank!!

Bl**dy horses!

Get the transport sorted sooner rather than later. I have a LOT of free time right now :(

You can ride Nitty if you like. You might look a bit ridiculous though as she is utterly tiny! I'd gladly have given you BH to play with but he is broken the useless great sod.

Jo is my YOs wife .. She's lovely her mother in law also runs our yard the whole family are fantastic .. I'd personally fill the form out and the ring them and ask to speak to Jo herself

They look like lovely horses. I filled out a form a good 2 and a half years back, and I contacted them with my new details a year ago, but have only ever had confirmation of my details and application, never been contacted about any horses :(
I do already have an exracer and two ponies plus over 15 years experience of horse ownership, a yard and turnout within a 93 acre secure estate/ deer park rented for our private use, surrounded by fabulous hacking and I am a competent rider.... so I would have thought our offer of a home was half decent.
I did hear it can take years before you hear from them. Maybe one day!!!!! :)

Good luck and hope you get a lovely new horse x

I know some one who does if thats any help?

Oh and if you still have loads of free time feel free to come sort me and the yellow one out next month at keysoe for the rc stuff :D We need to look stylish over fences :o.

I applied to them well over a year ago and have heard nothing, but bought myself an ex racer privately in the meantime :)

Which one do you have your eye on?

I dealt with them a few years ago when the old YO was running it.
What a shambles!! they got me all the way up there to ride a horse that was clearly in a lot of pain and then got incredibly stroppy and pretty much frog marched me off the yard when I got off the horse and questionned them about it.
I later found out the horse had just been returned from a 'rehoming' after the girl had spent thousands getting investigative vet work done it. They told me none of this and just lied about the whole thing. Disgraceful.
IMO there are hundreds of ex racers looking for a home and there are nicer horses to be found by going to trainers direct! I also don't rate the 're schooling' work they do, i'd rather start from scratch myself particularly as it's not rocket science.
Don't forget Darley horses will have been in training at 18 months old. All of them will have had a lot of wear and tear on them by the time they are 4yo and find themselves at Darley Rehoming!

PM - call Moorcroft. I was down there nearly 2 weeks ago & they have a good big handful at present & some almost ready to go on.
I was almost getting my brain into gear on getting another, but I know DH will go bonkers if I add to my little herd :o
All are fully checked for problems before they even start on the re-hab work :)
They never put them on the site tho, its all initially done over the phone & then visits down there.

Good luck
