Anyone's arena frozen

Just not fair lovely sunny morning great weather

and cant do any work because the surface is frozen!!

Cant win!!

Dont know whether to have a long lunch and try to ride at dinnertime or early finish and try about 4.30, but will it have started freezing again by then?

Got a couple of comps coming up and really need to work on the canter but just not happening!

mine's fine today, was a bit crispy yesterday morning though. it was much warmer here last night than the preceeding two nights, thank goodness.

This morning wasn't too bad as it was a bit warmer but yesterday morning at 6:15am I think it was about -3 and was fine lunging on it

What surfaces have you all got?

It has been.
ITs an old surface unfortunately but copes pretty well. If its rained or damp it will freeze. But because its been pretty dry recently its not frozen that much or taken very little time to defrost.
Was fine working last night, bloody cold

but arena held up really well.

Unfortunately today its quite damp so if it freezes tonight i can see it taking a while to defrost tomorrow. Its the weekend I could do without it being frozen tbh.

Mines been frozen for 2 days, but it has been -4 or colder each night and not really warming in the day.

Ours is silica sand and fibre.

Donut- think we are fairly close, so prob similar temps for both of us!

We havetwo bark arenas, they have been fine, have had a white coating on but its still soft

Our CUshioride wood fibre one never been frozen yet,
White hoar frost on top, but not frosen or hard at all.

Ours usually holds up really well but when it's been so cold -4 and -6 overnight lately it didn't unfreeze till mid afternoon. Luckily as of yesterady it's warmed up a but over here. Ours is a sand, that coloured rubber and the fibertrack stuff mix.

Ours is Turflo, it drains brilliantly even during all the floods but useless in the cold.

I've got "Trackright" with "Equimulch" - fine shredded rubber on it. Never ever freezes.
