I am just wondering what your experiences were- how effective it was and how long did the injections last? My boy has OCD in both stifles, low grade but persistent which surgery could not improve and which box rest and cartrophen only reduced lameness temporarily until brought back into work. I have now had his stifles injected as a last resort, about two and a half weeks ago and he is still more or less sound since then, albeit he has not been in work but still turned out every day and quite active in the field. He is more sound than he has ever been since lameness diagnosed- fine on a straight line on concrete and fine on the lunge in school and just 1/10th lame on a small lunge circle on concrete which my vet says most horses would be any way. I have been advised to just try working him as normal now as the only thing to do is to get in with it and see how it goes. I havent been able to ride the last couple of weeks since the injections as my RI who was schooling him for me is ill (I am having confidence issues too!) and I have been swamped with uni work. I hope to start working him again this week coming, and I am really just terrified that he will just go lame again straight away and we will have nothing else left to try :(

Does anybody have any ideas whether this is likely to happen, or what your experiences have been? How often did you have to have your horses stifles injected to keep them sound? I am under the impression that we could repeat the injections every so often if it keeps him sound, but not too often due to both his health and the cost

Thanks in advance, jelly babies and galaxy chocolate all round.... :)
