Anyone's horse had Depo Provera?

My vet has recommended that we try giving Lil Depo Provera injections to control her erratic and moody behaviour.

Has anyone else had success with this? I've never heard of it before although vet said it can be very effective for horses with her symptoms.

Well, all I know is it's a human contraceptive that's given via injection at 3 monthly intervals. I can't remember if it's Oestrogen or Progesterone (spl?!) based but essentially it's hormone treatment so it may well work control seasonal behaviour in mares.

Worth a try I guess if her behaviour is difficult.

Lol Anya. I used to have the implant and I loved it, guess it must be like being a man as I had no mood swings at all.

Not sure whether I would rather she had Depo or a marble. Don't really feel I know enough about the pros and cons.
