Just turned my horse out (she's been on box rest for a week) and she's definately in season! Prancing about with her tail up infront of all the boys!! It seems really early for this? Anyone else feeling the pain of a flighty in season mare?!

Yep! Picked up my new loan horse just over a week ago and she was in season then. My other mare is soooo moody you'd think she was in season 24/7!

Ha ha, I had my camera out to take some nice pictures in the snow and when they started carrying on I had the exact same thought!!

Hi sarahg,
My mare has just finished her 2ND! season this yr - her previous owner now tells me she often has winter seasons - great! I put her on frisky mare plus in the last one start of Jan and this one was a much easier ride.

Crazy as it sounds I wish mine would ! Why... because she is being investigated for dodgy ovaries and i really could do with her in season now so that they can get on with the whole investigation

Not yet, thankfully altho it won't be long as she is starting to lose her winter coat and has a very attentive gelding stabled next to her...must speak to the vets as we are thinking of having an implant for her this yr rather than the dreaded regumate.
Don't think we would be terribly popular if she turned the competition mareson this yard into the sort of screaming harem that she created at her previous yard...

Yes, the painted pony is tarting all over the placeand driving the poor stallion bananas.

They can jolly well wait until at least May if not April, I am NOT having her foal down next January when they would have to come in at night! Besides that, I refuse to do foal watch in -20C
