AP and mobile phone - 3 pts

Heard on the news this morning that AP McCoy got caught on his mobe leaving Aintree and was fined and given 3 pts on his licence. What are your views? I know we should all be law abiding citizens but perhaps a word in his ear would have done after his achievement (and I'm an ex WPC!!!).

Perhaps the PC concerned had bet on King Johns Castle LOL

Hmmm, not sure i agree, yes he did a fantastic job in the race, but knowing someone who was killed by someone on a mobile phone while driving, i dont think there's any excuse to not have a hands free - lets face it he can afford one!

Sorry no excuse, same as drink driving, if I'm driving I dont even have 1 then I'm sure

I suppose to be honest he could afford a driver and then he could talk to his heart's content. Of course jocks aren't allowed to use phones on course ( due to any allegations of betting scams) so I assume he was "catching up".

I wonder how many of us could hand on heart say - I've never done it?

I'm not excusing him but just wondered what your views are. Perhaps I was too much of a softie
