Apologies to whoever has been upset???

I have been following your efforts on FB for weeks and have a huge amount of admiration for what you are doing out there. I am astounded that someone would complain about your post on here and even more astounded the it was pulled!
I was hoping that H&H would pick up your story and offer some free advertising for the auction. After all if so many top trainers can see what a worth while cause it is, surely H&H can?
I would like tfc to explain why the thread was pulled, I dont expect the coward who complain to own up.... shamefull!

COME ON H&H GET INVOLVED WHERE IT REALLY MATTERS, THE MORE PEOPLE THAT KNOW ABOUT THE AUCTION (AND ITS CAUSE) THE MORE BIDS!
LOTS OF BIDS= HOPEFULLY MORE MONEY RAISED TO HELP THESE POOR HORSES WHO'S LIVES DEPEND ON PEOPLE LIKE WENDY.

Sorry, I had to shout the last bit... annoyed and saddened by button pushers and H&H for not getting behind this. Maybe we should all boycott buying H&H for 1 week and send the money to wendy?

Thank you everyone for all of your support. I am astounded that the threads were pulled and I would love to know why. I did notice that the one I started on 'Lessons of a Lifetime' has been left up.

I was going to quote everyone but it would take me an age!

Many thanks for all of your support and we look forward to hopefully getting all of HHO involved with the chance to get a Lesson of a Lifetime and their chance to ride with one of the many great riders/trainers who've been so kind to donate their time.

So great to know that you guys and gals are all behind us.

I expressed my disappointment at this thread being pulled yesterday, however having thought about it, I wonder if H&H (TFC) were concerned about this thread setting a precedent.
Imagine logging in one day and finding an entire page of "Please help our Charity" posts, some of which may be more genuine than others and having to trawl through them to find an original/interesting post.

Maybe we can ask for a charity forum? That way people can look in as and when they please. I know that many horsey folk are all animal lovers and there are a lot of people out there who raise money for other charities. Wouldn't be a bad idea and it would also mean that people would still get their informative posts etc.

I see Wendy has commented that she has been out handing out flyers, Is there anyway she can email some out to those who want one, I would be happy to approach a few of my local tack shops... I am sure they would be happy to help by putting them up. I also live close to few big competition yards... bet some of those riders would love to bid??

I don't think a charity forum would work as a stand alone, but I'm pretty sure if HHO had been asked, and it not assumed, then the posts would have been allowed - they have done similar in the past IIRC.

Send a pm to TFC and ask, at the very least you will get an explanation :)

Not only is it sad that someone complained but the fact that HHO removed your posts is shameful too! It's a charity fgs... Get a grip Fat Controller!

^^^^^this this this this this this this^^^^^

Its such a shame that somebody would complain but for their complaint to be taken seriously enough to warrent the threads to be pulled is even more upsetting :(:(:( sad day HHO.

To be honest I shall be reconsidering my subscription to the magazine and thinking that the money would be better going to a worthy charity.

Hi everyone, I am just about to shoot off to London. With regard asking the forum TFC had amended an tow earlier posts where auto correct in word had changed the spelling of Andrew Goulds name, so , in fact they were very kindly turning a blind eye, i guess though once someone complains and points out that its against the rules they have to act.

We are on facebook though as you all know and our email address is cairo.farrier@gmail.com I will apologise in advance if we dont answer promptly but with the auction starting on Monday and being away from my laptop so much it is a tad frantic LOL

Thanks again for all your kind words and support ♥

Dear forum users

H&H is supporting the Cairo Farrier campaign and have been in contact with the organisers since an early stage. We are going to be publishing a news story in next week's magazine and online, plus we publish Roland Thompson's blog (Kris Parson's apprentice) and will be continuing to do so.

Unfortunately the organiser did not check with us regarding promoting the charity via the forum before going ahead with this. If she had then I would have discussed with her what was and was not an acceptable and advised TFC of what had been agreed.

I am delighted that you are all supporting this excellent initiative and recommend that you all visit www.facebook.com/CairoFarrier to stay abreast of the latest news, and also check out the news section of the main H&H website.

Thank you for the prompt response and update.

Can I just point out that there are still a lot of people in the world who do not use Facebook and do not want a Facebook account? Some are even leaving Facebook because of the latest changes. So anyone wishing to fundraise for a charity, or promote a cause, would do well to use a multi-level approach.

Well done H&H for covering this story next week! BOO for cancelling the original thread! Perhaps after a quick discussion of what is & isnt allowed they may be able to post again about the charity?

Hi TinyPony - you can view the page even though you are not a FB member. We are going to take emailed bids as well as posted bids so we are trying to be as inclusive as possible. I would happily email you our press release if you would like to PM me your email address.

Thank you admin as well.

Rhino - I really wish we had known about the permission seeking. I have noted on a couple of threads you've asked people if they have permission but I stupidly didn't put two and two together. Hindsight is wonderful but it's a mistake I will not be making again.....

:D That's just for the endless surveys/marketing ;)

It seems a shame as it is such a worthwhile charity, but I'm sure if you discuss it with Admin you could get a new thread up and running before the auction starts :)

Personally i dont think youve anything to apologise for, and the person or persons that complained ..... Seriously, you need to get a life, these people are doing a good think that'll help horses, donkeys and educate people, complainer, you ought to be ashamed of yourself.
I could liken you to something else, but id prefer not to get a ban

Ditto!!

Liveryblues - I've just screwed up the email! There should be one flying to you now....

Thanks Rhino - I have emailed both HHO Admin and TFC as I wasn't sure which one I was supposed to speak to. I suppose to a degree we've been marketing. I honestly thought everyone would be so wrapped at the chance of not only meeting a hero but to ride in front of a hero!

Fingers Crossed for a positive out come and thank you all again for your suppose and for the support from the HHO Admin as well :o :) :)

Does seem surprising that it was reported, but hope that you can get a new thread up :)

Received and printed... will do the rounds today :) I wonder if it isnt to much of a head ache that a link might be posted on FB asking anyone if they would like to download and hand out your flyers to local tack/feed/ yards etc?
edited to add, might also be worth finding the email address to some of the bigger venues and attaching the flyer, I am sure a lot of them would be happy to print and display it?

Many Thanks!!!!

I wonder how I'd go about doing that? I am honestly technically special... I can do the usual Word, Excel etc really easily!

Maybe if people want to have a copy of the flyers they can email us and we can forward them on? I could just post a comment then

affraid I am no good with all the really technical stuff either! If you comment on FB that if people send you their email address you can send flyer etc.....??
(have visions of you replying to emails all day lol!
