Just venting my excitement as I'm going to see an Appaloosa Filly tomorrow who is 10 months old, possibly to buy! Eeeek, anyone got any tips or anything to look out for when viewing little ones? Never bought such a young one! Exciting :D

Take some one horsey with you who is not so excited , with something is so small and cute it takes someone with a heart of stone not to buy on sight.
Buy with your head not your heart.
Easily said as even I would go ahhhhhh , don't overlook any conformation faults.

Oh and if you buy can we see some piccies?

I went to an Appaloosa stud 14 years ago... just to look!! 1 months later home came a 5 months old filly! Still have her and shes now here in Spain with me.. :D

If you think shes right, then get her vetted, I know a friend that got a appy colt foal, and it failed the vet and had to go back (not sure why it failed) if its spotty and you want it to stay that way, check the colour of the parents (for the grey gene) if it is an appy, as apposed to just a spotty foal, see if its registered with one of the breed societies.
(more and more people are calling spotty horses Appaloosas, not realising its a breed not a colour)

and let us know how you get on... :D and photos please

Chose a different Appaloosa filly who is just 2 weeks old! Need some good western name ideas for her?! Check the other thread about her on 'Latest News' for pics! She's gorgeous xx
