Apparently i've posted an advert on HHO?

i've just recieved an email, explaining that they have seen my advert on the horse and hound website and asking me for more details. they know what town i live in!
the thing is, i havent placed any adverts! but, for them to know what town i live in, my email address and that i have horses etc??
it doesnt seem to be one of the foreign 'latest/best price' emails either?
At the moment - i am confused!!!

with the recent 'stealing to order' concerns, i am really hesitant to reply to them!
 
How strange. I would probably delete it although you need to find out if there is actually an advert online?! Could you set up another email and reply? Or get someone else to reply?
 
Dont delete it incase there is something sus going on .Keep it in a folder and ignore it if you dont want to reply,I would feel inclined to reply asking what date etc it was advertised so you can contact advertiser.
 
the only thing i have posted on here is about my mare thats about to foal?

their addy is just a hotmail one, i've replied asking what they have seen advertised, i was careful not to give any info out ie, didnt put my name at the bottom but i guess they will have that from my email address. Also, they emailed my private email address, not the stables email addy, i dont know if thats worse or not.

it all seems so strange, i dont fancy going through all of the adverts really, ooooooooo thinking about it, i had a text last night also asking me to call someone about my horses when i had chance as they were interested, i just thought they had seen an old advert in a local tack shop or something!

Well didnt you say they see a advert in HHO ???
i would be very careful of this message and i wouldnt give out any other info to anyone you dont know
with all these rumers of weird men etc and being on a public site that is open to anyone i would be very careful
not trying to worry u any more messages i would delete inless very weird then i would report to HHO
 
they may have found info out from past posts. have you tried typing your details- eg number they called, into google and see if you get any hits?
 
when i searched my number on google (fab idea - thanks!) the only thing that came up is something with my local RC.
searched my email and nothing to do with Horse and Hound came up ?
i think i may just try and search the ads later, wait to see if they reply to me saying what they have seen advertised and take it from there. i assume if i had to, i could email/call HH and see if my details match up to any of the adverts (if they have a database that can search on numbers/emails etc)
the thing i dont get is, why would someone post an advert for me? surely it would cost them money? i can think of a few ex liveries i had to ask to leave not to long back that may think it funny if i get pestered with calls/emails! not sure they would pay though!
 
i would hang on to the adverts as evidence may sound stupid but how do these people know were you live and then to ask about the horses!!!!! id be careful hun... cant you get someone with a hotmail msn and add them?
