well evidently the driver of a honda civic thought so when he deciced to drive round a roundabout (where I had right of way) in the wrong direction

!!! and then parked said car on the roundabout

!!! Meaning I had to do an emergency stop in my lorry, with my pregnant mare onboard. How is it that people can be so useless?????? He caused a huge blockage whilst he went to buy his paper and lottery ticket at the post office next to the roundabout. Why is it that people a) cannot park their car further away in a suitable place and walk, b) think that a large bright blue lorry with 'horses' written across the front can brake in the same way as a car, and c) feel it is ok to ignore every rule of the road and cause a major blockage (and very nearly an accident) just because it is convienient for them?????????? The driver had on hugely thick glasses, so probably was just about blind (he looked quite old!) should he really be on the road?????? Grrrrrrr, sorry my rant is now over, lucky my mare travels well

What an idiot! I've clipped a kerb before as a car driver would not move over or stop when I was turning into a tight road (and had nearly finished).

For what it's worth don't feel bad that there are other road users out there that apparently cannot see vehicles that are bigger than theirs'. The fact that you 'box has 'Horses' written on it matters not. Whilst people 'look' they do not 'see.' In 10 years of driving a 44 tonne artic around Europe and riding a large motorbike for more than 20 years the only piece of advice I can really give is; 'treat every other driver as if they are the fool they really are.' At the end of the day, look after the cargo in your vehicle and sod all the others.
Be careful out there, smile sweetly at their antics, there is no point in having an early coronary because of them

GeeBee45 - my driving instructor said almost the exact same words to me when I was learning to drive! Its the best bit of info she gave me and one I always use, especially when in the lorry!
