Just wanted peoples opinions on Apple Chaff, I have a 16.2, 16 year old warmblood gelding that has LOTS of nervous issues and needs lots of TLC, I only feed 1/2 scoop dodsons Leisure mix twice daily and 1 scoop apple chop but a few people have suggested the apple chop may have a high sugar content and not be helping his quirks? opionions would be greatly appriciated!!

I agree, my daughter shocked me by choosing it for her Tb gelding, fair enough he loved it, but for him it wasn't a good choice. He's on HiFi Original now

my boy is on it with no issues at all and does have problems with mollasses and loads of sugar. It's aparantly low sugar/ natural sugars and our chiro said that her vet had recommended it for her laminitic pony in the past.

If you look at the analysis it has 17- 22% sugar, that is extremely high and I would not feed it to a laminitic, vets are not always that clued up on feeds or nutrition, sugar, natural or otherwise is not good for any horse.
