Our old girl is on new medication at the minute for tendonitus but she hates it and wouldn't eat her food.
I don't know who came up with it, but a carton of apple juice in it works nicely, but is there anything else we could add, just to vary it a bit as she will probably be on this medication for a while.
Thanks

thanks.
Is the cordial expensive?
i think we're gonna get orange juice too and see if she likes it lol.
We get molasses every so often, and they all get it when we do so she'd get that if we get some in.

I always found unsweetened apple juice worked best, but also grated/pureed carrots/parsnips worked well. As a last resort I used heinz apple puree baby food if all else failed

Simple System Feeds do puramint which is good. Feedmark do peppermint. If the apple juice is working, I'd stick with that.

Natural yoghurt has always worked quite well for me in the past when trying to "hide" medication, it is quite a strong taste but the horses seem to love it!

The hi juice apple cordial from most supermarkets works really well. You can add a splash undiluted to the feed and it keeps much longer than fresh apple juice so you can just keep a bottle in the feed room

Fenugreek - It smells like curry, but they all seem to like it, some feed companies even add it to their feeds now too (I know Spillers sugar free mix, has it in).

Garlic is also good, for covering meds.

You can buy those dried carrot pieces in a tub that you just add water to. Ned might like those and easier than grating. Think you can also get dried apple pieces like this. I swear by a sticky golden syrup sandwich!
