Apple's in water bucket?

Have you never seen a horse apple bobbing ;)

Put them in whiole and they'll do the same as us, they won't drown or choke. When they've eventually got the apple, they'll bite it, if too big they drop it and have to catch again :D

After a few goes, they quickly become good at it :)

I tried carrots in the water bucket. Horse got tired of this game very quickly so he just tipped the bucket over and ate the carrots. Much quicker :P

My Section D is an expert apple bobber and it's so funny to watch her.Carrots just sink to the bottom of the bucket so no entertainment there unless the horse is a serious underwater swimmer.

Did the cat sit on Matt again?
I feed oats and other stuff, but a wild oat's always a good thing to sow, before you get educated at uni and stuff.
Dickselxia rules OK!
One potato,
two potatoes, three potatoes more.................

My pony loves doing this - he will shove his whole head in virtually to get the apple. He usually bites the apple in half first and then bobs again for the other half. Make me laugh as he watches me drop the apple into the water like a dog waiting for a ball to be thrown. Give it a go... its fun!

I did this with my gelding and he simply pushed the apples to the bottom of the bucket and bit them. The water was up to his eyes and he blew bubbles in the water. Never did it again as cleaning up the mess and wasted bedding put me off. I should try it out in the field as it was hilarious.......

I put 5 apples in his water bucket, expecting them to last for ages, went away for 10 minutes and came back - he had eaten them all!!

But, he did have a very 'look how clever I am' look on his face :D

Strangely, my TB, who is brilliant with his Snack a ball, has never managed to 'bob' an apple. I use them to stop the buckets freezing in winter as the apple is always still there in the morning, bless him!!
