For a girl on my yard- she has a 13hh New Forest X. (Forest Bred) he is 5. He is built like a house and I can ride him no problem at all. He is soooooo quiet to ride has never bucked/reared or bolted. Hacks out alone and in company but can be 'looky' on his own. Hes ridden in a hanging cheek snaffle. Jumps 2'6 rustic courses/does working hunter with success at RC level. Loads travels well. Solid feet, no health issues, moves very straight. Will be clipped/bathed and played with without any issues.
He's taught dissabled kids down to 7 years old to ride. But does work correctly/more forward when needed.
Now what makes him difficult to value is he can be a pig to lead- some days hes an angel- others he can just bomb off back to buddies in the field- which is odd as shes good to catch. Even my OH cant hold him when he tries this. He's been lead in a normal headcollar/pressure knot headcollar and chiffney and has pulled away a number of times. He has done this at a show when leading away from the lorry. In every other respect hes a gem- and perfect family pony but she wasnt sure if he could sell as a first pony because he doesnt always lead properly. And he's her first pony so she doesnt know how much to see him for.
