Arab horse society rename

Hi, I am a newbie on here.

I have recently bought a 2 yr old Anglo Arab. I am sorting out her change of ownership form and wanted to change her registered name. The Arab horse society have told me this can't be done, has anyone else had this problem?

I don't think you can, no. That said, I'm not aware of any breed society that lets you change a name (other than adding a prefix or suffix).

Why do you want to change it? Is it horrendous?

I agree with Esther, they don't let you change the name.

Although if you're competing locally you could choose whatever name you want.

Her name wouldn't be my choice, but if I can call her something else at local shows that's the problem sorted.
