After spending the last year successfully rehabbing my 8YO mare after surgery on her stifles, we're now having front limb lameness from getting cast (26th June). She was on box rest for 2 weeks from noticing the lameness under the vets instruction, we then took her up to the clinic and advised she has a further two weeks rest before doing a full investigation. She was looking better at this point but still not right so opted for a full lameness assessment (26rd July), where we found a strain on her front right suspensory ligament and treated with PRP. Since then she's had a further 4 weeks box rest and today we had her back to the vets for a check up - she improved and going in the right direction but not where we hoped she would be at this point. Vets have suggested a further 4-6 box rest with continued controlled exercise.
I've been looking on Facebook and there seems to be a lot of positive experiences with the Arc Equine. I've been looking into the and I don't want to spend £400 on one as I'm a bit sceptical but I can rent one for 6 weeks for £70 which seems pretty reasonable.
It says the programs are 3 hours long .. do you need to leave it on for that long to be effective? It then says to rotate legs, so 3 hours a day rotating each day is a lot of time be waiting around at the yard!
Just wanted to hear anyone's experiences with this type of injury and/or using the arc equine
