Oh, after a bit of a blip a few weeks ago and him not being done (freezemarker couldn't find the farm), Archie was freezemarked today and he was an absolute star.

I gave him a couple of calmers beforehand and when he was actually being freezemarked I gave him the choice of a haynet or a bucket of feed. He chose the feed and I was there giving him lots of strokes and telling him what a good boy he was and he didn't bat an eyelid.

After about an hour of me faffing him and making him look handsome he was back in the field, squealing with delight - new field, more grass! (Rationed grass at that).

The freezemarker had to hold the irons on longer as it was on his shoulder, which is white, so it will be a bald mark.

I have lost sleep worrying about him being stolen and by having him freezemarked I feel I have lessened the worry and that if he was there would be more likelihood of him being recovered.

Well done for getting him done and see, no problem doing it.

I had my appaloosa boy done today to i'v never seen it done before so was a bit concerned about how he'd behave but he was generally very good pulled a bit of a face but most of the time was to intent on filling his face to bother i was also extremelly worried about him being stolen and as you say AM just feel a wee bit more at ease about that now hewas also done on the shoulder

samstar google farmkey or freezemark and all the info is their numbers etc

How do I go about getting my mare freeze marked, will the vets have a number?
After the incident I had this week I now think its sooner rather than later

It was in Sweet FA wednesday, was out riding my pony and a vehicle came along and started taking pics of her and asking questions. Police were contacted and they have moved these people on from the area and also given them a warning.
Its brought home to me how much it is to maybe lose a loved one, she's not put together well and I'm only a happy hacker but couldn't be without her.
Was also thinking branding on her shoulder so its visible even with tack on

get a freezemark done on the shoulder, you are always offered this choice and personally, it is where I would always opt to have mine done. After having two of mine stolen earlier this year, I will keep on telling people to get it done. We got them back because they were freezemarked.

I am having my bay gelding and bay mare done on the shoulder, both jumping ponies.
I am not sure where to get the new skewbald marked.
She is nice enough for showing and WHP. I would like to keep my options open for selling her in the future. I thought getting her done under the saddle may be better for showing?
